About D1 Now
D1 Now is a research project funded by the Health Research Board. We are based at NUI Galway and the Centre for Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism at University Hospital Galway. D1 Now aims to improve engagement between young adults with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) and their healthcare providers and ultimately improve their self management and diabetes-related health outcomes. The D1 Now intervention is co-designed by researchers and young adults living with T1D.
We are currently testing the D1 Now intervention in hospitals in Dublin and Belfast.
Young Adult Panel
The D1 Now study team have successfully formed a Young Adult Panel (YAP) of 18-25 year olds with T1D who are involved in all aspects of the study design and direction.
These Young Adults have a better understanding of what needs to be achieved in order to gain better diabetes care services for their age group.
We are currently recruiting for our Galway and Dublin YAPs. If you are between 18-25 years, living with type 1 diabetes and want to get involved please contact our programme manager Eimear at eimear.morrissey@nuigalway.ie
We are looking forward to meeting new YAP members!
